Eight years ago my husband and ...Hello, Christine,<br /><br />Eight years ago my husband and I decided to sell our house and move overseas. We spent more than a year sorting through our massive amounts of stuff and eventually discarded about 80% of our possessions. Even so, we had a container's worth that we shipped.<br /><br />The process was difficult and stressful. It made me realize the cost of material things, and changed my view forever. Now, I don't acquire anything new--a book, a new blouse, a piece of electronic equipment--without getting rid of something in the same category.
